Metal Tech-9Ak 2018

Did I finish?
no because my work had kept getting taken and i had to keep restarting over. I did want to finish and i was close to finishing but the day i had to weld something had happen and no one could weld that period.

Why didn't I finish?
like I explained before i couldn't weld or finish my work because something had happen. I would've finish if nothing had happen to it but I didn't get to finish.

What did I enjoy?
I enjoyed learning new things like drilling and shaping my work and watching people weld so that I could learn how to weld. Once I starting watching people weld i wanted to have ago but i didn't get to but it was fun to watch anyway.  I also enjoyed taking photos with my friends with what we needed to wear when welding.

What did I learn?
 I had learnt new things like how to drill, how to shape it. I also learnt how to weld and what to do when welding. And also try not to lose my work next time so i can finish it.

What was a challenge?
My challenge was to finish on time and getting it done when its supposed to be done. I got some help from other people and that's how i caught up to everyone. I still didn't get to finish but at least I got up to where everyone else was.

How did I overcome the challenge?
I got help from a lot of people and it helped me catch up to everyone so i could finish and catch up to where they were.

                                           Did I weld?
No because the day i needed to weld something had stopped working so i was gonna do it the next day but there was to much people doing it so I didn't get to weld.

What did I think of welding?
It looked hard to do but it also looked fun and I wish I got to try it so I could've finish my work. and move on from welding to finishing my other work.

What have I done better?
I didn't get to finish but i did get some work done. so at least i got some work done its okay because I still got something done out it of  this term but next time hopefully i will finish all my work and focus more.

passion project-sports fundrasing

what is your passion project?
The passion project i'm doing is sports fundraising. We are doing it for charity's and for our school to get more equipment. for sports we are doing basketball,volley ball and football. There are different people running each sport so the children that are playing will rotate once they have finished playing there sport

what have you learnt?
I have learnt how to create draw.io. You use it for little information you have gathered or to use it for who doing what and what your topic is about.

How does this help you achieve your passion project?
This helps us by getting the information we need to run sports for little kids. It also helps us because we will also be coaching them and helping them learn how to play.

what is your next step?
Our next step is to gather how much kids are playing and to print our posters and let everyone know about whats happening.

what evidence do you have that this is something you need to do?
we need do to it because it is our project and we are planing to do it very soon

lactose intolerance

Lactose intolerance

First fact
As you eat ice-cream when you are young you could get lactose intolerance as you grow up. Once you hit your 20's you may or may not get lactose

Second fact
Not everyone has the same side effects. Some will only have abdominal pain and diarrhea, other  people will only get gas and mild reaction. 

Third Fact
bloating, gas cramping or diarrhea can often last 30 minutes or two hours after consuming dairy in people that are lactose intolerance's. The more you eat milk products, the worse you will feel.

reflection on nz wool

In maths we had been working on how we can help farmers sell NZ wool. Our challenge was to make a product out of NZ wool. We have done a presentation on our topic and why we chose this challenge, and how we will sell our product. We always wrote about how we would make it and what we would make for NZ kids.

Reflection

What I learnt
I learnt that NZ wool is Non-allergic which means wool is no known to allergy and does not promote the growth of bacteria.

What I liked/dislike
What i liked was learning something new about NZ wool. What disliked was presenting in front of everyone.

Recipe for scones
Scones
Ingredients
3 cups plain flour
_ teaspoons Baking Powder
¼ ______________ salt
75_ butter
1 to 1 ½ cups _______

Method
  1. _____ flour, ____________, and salt into a bowl
  2. Cut ________ in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs
  3. Add milk and mix quickly with a ________ to a soft _________.
  4. K_______ a few times
  5. Place baking paper on tray.
  6. Press scone dough onto this. _____ into 12 pieces.
  7. _____ with milk
  8. Bake at ______ for _____ minutes

Variations
  1. Cheese scones
Add ¾ cup grated cheese, pinch of cayenne pepper to flour.
Before baking top with a little cheese

  1. Sultana scones
Add ¾ cup sultanas to flour

What went well on Friday?
Me and my partner did well but they were a bit under cooked because we were in a rush.

What needs to be improved?
Maybe helping each other out and to communicating with each other.

What did i learn?
I learnt a new recipe for scones and how to work the oven.

When was basketball created


1891 basketball was created by Dr James Naismith. James first taught his class how to play. He only set 13 rules for the new game. When he first taught them how to play is was 9 versus 9 but it is now 5 versus 5 these days. For the hoops they first used boxes so every time they got it in the ref to go up and get the ball. As you know now they use nets so when they shoot the ball it comes out so it is easier to get the ball. James first started basketball off as shooting the ball into fruit bags he then got the idea of making it into a sport.

I wonder why there are gangs


So far all I have found out that young teenagers get forced too join there gang.
For some family's it may be tradition or because an older member in there family was in the gang.
Some people in gangs don't rape or cause violence.
They do it for there whanau and to support then gang sign.
If you see people with a fist tattoo on there face that means there in the black power gang.
If there is a bulldog tattoo on there face mongrel mob gang.
They all have there own patches on there jackets.They fight over colours.

I set up everything for this week. I was organized for school and training. From last Friday I felt like a champion playing basketball on Friday. We have won all our games now. I was gonna skip last week training but  I needed time to formulate an excuse so I didn’t have to go to training. I couldn’t think of any so I went to training. They are building a new gym at school and I can’t wait to see what it looks like at the end of this term. It’s going to be bigger and better. So now there will be more room for people to watch me play on Fridays, And other teams.

It all started on Thursday. I had to come to school, I didn’t want too because I was really tired from training . I didn’t get to do my homework because I came home late last night. My brother had to do his homework, Because i’m the only one with a Chromebook and he had to get it done. I let him do it by the time he was done it was almost midnight. I wanted to do my homework, but not really. I was as tired as a sleepy sloth. I did not want to wake up late for school.

creative writing

Me and my friends were in my house. We all just woke up, because the house was moving. We all look out the window watching how far we were from the ground. We started crying knowing that we will never see our family again, we had each other that was all that matters. The boys were upstairs they were still asleep. We ran up telling them to get up and look outside. They got up they looked out side and then we stopped. There was someone talking to us we didn't know where it came from. We were listening and they were telling us to look down. It wasn't just us up in the air there were takeouts other houses. We were happy that we weren't the only one up in the air.  We walked out side and it seem we had our own island up in the air it was just like leaving on the ground but better some how....

Our amazing musical !!!

what have I learnt?
This musical I learnt how to be more confident and how to not care of what people think about it. It was fun when we were learning it but I didn't really want to perform. We have music term 2 and three so i think i will get use to performing in front of everyone. I want to learn more about dancing and singing. Here is a photo of us and a video.

I found out Musicals is something like a play but with singing and dancing. Basically everything they say and do is sing or dance. Musicals Developed from light opera in the early 20th century. Writing

The Graveyard

I was wondering through the graveyard.It felt like something was watching me.
I started walking fast and it got even closer.  I turned around there was still nothing.I felt it touch me this time I didn’t look. I was running as fast as I could. I lost the person who was following me but I was also lost in the middle of nowhere.


I woke up in a nice warm home. Wondering where I am and how I got here. I saw someone with I weird black coat hiding there face. The person took there hood off and It was my mum. I was happy to see her but I knew I would never see her again.
I was just dreaming and I woke up crying knowing I will never see my mother again..

My teacher Mr carter taught us how to use this site then we got started. We wrote facts and things we already knew about fractions decimals and percentages

Refection
When me and my group were doing our infographic, We learnt different things about fractions,decimals,percentages but not a lot. we learnt how to work it out faster I didn't like how we did different slides We should have worked together on all of them. I would use this for different subjects for my writing anything really.

Writing

I didn't mean to kill her. I just got home from work I walked in and everything was a mess. I looked around and everything was broken and messy. I walked up stairs to see if someone was there. I was not sure who was hiding but they were whispering and planing something. All I said was who are you, what do you want. It turned around with blood tripping from there eyes. I quickly ran to the door but it was already there. I went to the room and the ghost was sitting by the window. I wasn't sure if it was my wife or a ghost.  

I got to the window looking at it because I couldn't figure out who it was.
I grabbed her whispering sorry.  It was my wife she had came back to haunt me. We had an argument and I didn't mean to push her but I pushed her out the window and that's how she died. I didn't mean to kill her......

Observations of a burning candle

My observations

  • It was solid then it turned into liquid 
  • You can see through the flame
  • The pic was black 
  • The flame was yellow,orange,blue
  • It was only moving if someone blew or if there was wind
  • The wax was melting slowly 
  • The shape of it was like a oval or a tear drop 
  • The flame moves by it self 
  • If you touch the melted wax it will dry out 
  • The wax is really sticky When u touch it 
  • It makes me feel happy
  • Its really relaxing 
  • The candle doesn't go out unless you blow it
